A thought-provoking single about going against the odds.
Jai Winter - "Glacier"

Serving as a highlight off the Philly MC's forthcoming project, Shades of Blue, "Glacier" was penned after Jai Winter and his girlfriend got into a bad accident while traveling to his first show. In a matter of minutes, the gloomy, bass-heavy trap beat gives Jai Winter leeway to showcase his versatility. Through his melodic flow, the rapper details the aftermath of what could've been a fatal crash.

Lyrics like "They left my civic in the intersection leaking out/Feels like they took apart of me and I’m still bleeding out," describe the frustration Jai Winter feels after not being able to get to his show safely.

As the song continues, Jai Winter expresses his anger about missing out on a performance he worked so hard for. This dilemma almost feels like a slap in the face because he works around the clock on his artistry and God-given talent.

"Hopefully, I can get right back where I’m supposed to be/Stop holdin’ me," he raps. "They tryna set me back."

In the rest of "Glacier," Jai Winter lists reasons why people selflessly get behind the wheel. Although these individuals know the consequences of their reckless driving, they seem to disregard others on the road. Despite the obstacles in his way, Jai Winter strives to overcome them all.

"Intoxicated, drunk, and faded/People never could be patient," he delivers. "See me floatin’ through this life/You want what’s mine and tried to take it/Can’t take my spirit outta place."
