Young Bail - "Sinful"

On his newest single “Sinful,” New Brunswick-based rapper Young Bail rises above the drama of jealous, draining fake friends over a glimmery, ambient beat.

Inspired by 2000s rap greats such as 50 Cent and Jay-Z, Young Bail embodies the droning, gravelly DMX-esque vocal styles that possessed the era. On “Sinful,” he takes on a more laid back, less vigorous approach — with an awareness that he is in a completely different lane than the haters once in his circle.

“The circle small but it’s smaller when contaminated,” he raps, his smooth flow devoid of any anger or hard feelings. He rides the plunging, fast-paced beat with ease, as strong supporting bars from fellow New Jersey rappers Flash Is Hip Hop and Kilogram provide lighthearted and sometimes humorous jabs, calling these jealous friends “softer than cookie dough.”

Young Bail knows that his love and friendship is genuine, and “Sinful” is a declaration of using that energy of those deserving of it as he moves forward in his rap career. “It’s sinful how they try to get to you,” he repeats on the hook, looking at these actions from a distinct angle; he knows that the hate is only going to do more harm to his enemies rather than him in the end.
